dennis turn 22!
so.... dennis' birthday was June 27. beginning in may.... i started thinking about ways i could surprise him. i did this because we are always planning things to do... which is fun bc we do things... but theres never any surprises. so that brings me to airplanes! has in the post about nursery themes... dennis loves aviation, planes, all that good stuff. so i found an airshow that was taking place on his birthday weekend, bought the tickets, and booked a hotel room. we took out in the middle of the night on friday.... and saturday arrived in Davenport, IA. it was a 6 hour drive... and he had lots of questions.... i dont think he has ever been in a situation with no control at all. when he saw we were going to be staying in a city that was kind of country... he guessed in was taking him to a monster truck show! it was so funny to hear his guesses.... so we got into our room and slept for like 4 hours, and then we had to get up and head to the airshow, he had no idea was happening. as SOON as we walk out of the hotel, i say it is SUCH a beautiful day.... bc it was... sun was shinging and the sky was blue. he responds, YOU'RE taking me TO AN AiRSHOW. i couldnt keep a straightface..so i said yes. he was so excited! he couldnt believe i actually pulled it off.... in fact i couldnt either. anyWHO we had a great weekend... and here are some pics to prove! :)
hmmm....what do you have planned??!!
biggest smile ever!
& the show begins... and he's already out of his seat!
WORN OUT... i was anyways... lol
...life
it's been awhile since i've posted! so i'll update yall NOW.
my new job! OMG i freakin' love it! i never thought i would love working so much, i mean i love money, in return i have always liked to work BUT i could seriously work everyday all @ Delia's.
i'm the ces, which basically is the person below the asst. manager and above all the fashion reps and associates. i love it! i fit it really well too. most of the girls are teens and are so curious about my pregnancy. we definitely never run out of conversation. my days consists of managing time to ensure every customer is given the same attention from the on duty reps and associates, paperwork, checking sales figures, and being like the host of the party running around the store to make sure everyone is having a great experience in the store. ces stands for customer experience specialist! i definitely feel like i belong there and i'm so thankful they offered me the postion!
so my belly.....OMG. it has "popped" the past 4 weeks (i'm 6months 4 days TODAY) my stomach and lil man has GROWN! i love it.... my feet have almost disappeared until i bend over alittle...and putting on SHOES is the hardest thing for me to do. i now know how it feels to not be able to put your own shoes on. i have had many elderly people in my life, where i have put their shoes on for them..... and now it's me in that spot...and dennis putting them on for me. lil man is VERY low and my placenta is to the back.... so i feel everything and bending over does not feel pleasant. dennis LOVES (sarcasm) when i wear my gladiators... bc theres like 5 buckles on each shoe.... i appreciate it every morning.... has my foot is on his shoulder and he trying to buckle the right strap to the right spot. he does love when i wear my chucks... those are easy. i always tell him it's good practice for lil man BC i even struggle with little kid shoes... and always afraid im might bend their little toesies!
i get my first BIG, full time, paycheck NEXT friday... and already have plans on spending some of it!
- spray on
-highlights, trim
-picture frames
-king size sheets, comforter, pillow cases
-swimming suit
can u tell my priorities are in line?!?! lol. well i have the next two months bills paid up so i'm treating myself..... i haven't had a trim or highlights SINCE march. can you say ROOTS?!?!?!?

BOY what's your name?!?!?
we have started picking names! what fun it is explaining names to each other. lol
i typically like short, unique names where as dennis is all over! he likes some short ones then other 5 syllable names. dennis is a "jr. however, we are not going to be naming the baby dennis earl hopgood III. we are going to try to incorporate both of our family's into little boy's name. i thought we should do a name that begins with a "d" and dennis was all for that. so that narrows the search so far! im taking any and all suggestions. the first name will be UNIQUE and the middle name will be a family name. call me ole' fashioned but i was too stubborn to change my opinion on that lol. we plan to have two solid names going into it and when our precious baby boy enters our world.... will know which name he'll be by looking at him. ah.....can't wait to just see him and feel him. right now all i feel is his knees and feet and head! sometimes hurting but i manage :) i also know once we have decided on the few names...im not telling a SOUL. i want it to be a surprise and not be influenced by people's early opinions. im vey indecisive.....and dennis knows right away if he likes something... so this is going to be fun lemme tell ya!

themes..... aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
so now that little boy (dennis prefers lil MAN) has a room.... my nesting side just wants to decorate it and get it ready NOW! i have introduced several themes for the room to dennis, none of which he has been too excited about. perhaps yall could help.
airplanes... dennis loves planes and air shows. I have seen several cute and fairly cheap ways to bring this theme to life.... like hanging toy airplanes from the ceiling with fishing line. Using sayings with the words sky, fly, those kinds of things.
safari.... okay it sounds outrageous BUT i love the majority of the sets to this theme. i love browns and tans and yellows. it wouldn't be super busy. maybe just do the crib comforter with the animals and focus on one or two animals as little details. dennis liked this one a little :)
trees/leaves.... i love plants and how they represent life. i like family trees too. i like the colors associated with trees and leaves too.
"green"... during my last college semester i did SEVERAL projects about sustainability and going green. i would love to raise the baby in a room full of environmentally safe items and start teaching him young how fragile our planet is at this point. there are tons of cribs, sheets, EVERYTHING that are 100% recyclable or semi as well as eco friendly. dennis like this one as well!
basis baby plaid or polkas.... blue and brown i LOVE. but i want to make it memorable for me atleast even if little squirt never sleeps in there. i want it to be homey and full of love and i know it will be no matter what we end up doing HOWEVER. it will be semi-themed hopefully.....lol
we both agreed on no character themes...yet. dennis would love spongebob to be all over but I REFUSE. lil boy can pick a theme when he's old enough to pick a theme!

changes!
address - from Warrensburg to Kansas City
it was a pretty "easy" move if there is such a thing. my dad and stepmom came to help. dennis and i packed all of our belongings and we headed down the highway. the only thing that didn't make the move... was one of my lava lamps. me dad "dropped" it.... no tears were shed, but i know the lava lamps remind him of my still-to-this-day HiPPiE mom. lol. but i was fine with it... the other two survived :) Sheila(stepmom) pretty much bought all of Target's kitchen supplies which helped out ALOT. because i threw away most of our utensils, pots, pans, and toaster before moving. they were worn out and needed updating! i thank god for my dad and stepmom. they are the only TWO people i have always had CONSiSTENTLY. they hear me at my worst and they see me at my best. I think thats why us 3 get along so well. they both think im too wild and too open and too spontaneous....BUT they have accepted it....slowly :)
living arrangements - from two roomies to one loverrrrrrr lol
i was living with another couple and it was RiDiCULOUS. i would need a whole diff post to explain my roommates but that's on another day...i do have some interesting stories :)
anyWHO NOW it's just me and dennis...and little boy of course. we have a gigantic living room, smaller kitchen, two big bedrooms, a full bathroom, and another bathroom with a stand-up shower and all the rest. we also have a nice little patio! we are in HEAVEN. to say the least.
jobs - from sales @ the Buckle to Management at Delias
the Buckle is NOT for ME. i am an honest person. and I cant handle the pressure of selling things for just the mere fact of selling the dang clothes. If i like the jeans on you and your butt i will TELL you, if i DONT like it I will tell you i DONT and find a different pair that do :) i have nothing against the buckle or anyone who has or still does work though, however it's just not for me. I love genuinely helping people and i couldn't do that there. SO i applied at Delias. I have always wore their clothing, gotten their catalog, and loved the store atmosphere. I was called for an interview that next day after turning in my application, and a week later i was OFFERED a management position! i thank god!!! so for those people who say they can't find a job. i will turn my back when you start rambling because within two weeks of turning in 8 applications. I was offered two different positions and called for interviews....HOWEVER i don't have to go to them now because my 1st pick called me! so fill out applications (yes they suck) and look good when you turn them in. dont just turn them in and run out the store! SELL yourself :)
my belly - semi beer gut looking- to BABY BUMP hallelujah!
my belly has finally taken shape. no more weird stares.... i know i do it too. at one point in most pregnancies i think there's a time where the belly region could go either way... just a little gut or prego-belly. and mine has taken full effect since my 19th week :)
